Hello! My name is Wali Hussain, I am excited to vote and take control of my future.
I am a proud American Muslim who is a college student and I have pledged to vote in this upcoming Tuesday, November 5, 2024 election. This election is the most important election in the history of United States of America. We Must Vote Responsibly! We Must Vote Early! We Must Vote All The Way to the End of Our Election Ballot!
This year several Muslim Organizations have partnered up for a campaign to ensure One Million Muslims in America do cast their vote. I am so proud to be part of this “Million Muslim Votes” initiative and have clicked on the link below and did Pledge to vote.
Please do visit the Million Muslim Votes campaign page and do Pledge to vote today! https://millionmuslimvotes.com/#pledge -- Visit Emgage Action website to understand how to get more involved with Civic Engagement https://emgageaction.org/about-us/
If you are in North Texas and you have not yet registered to vote. Please visit my partner
organization “March to the Polls” and register to vote. Remember In Texas you must sign your voter
registration application and ensure it reaches your county election office prior to the
deadline.
This organization will help you if you do not have a printer and will send the application you have
filled out on-line to sign and return back to your County elections office, with an addressed
envelope and stamp.

Why I started this organization with my family :
I turned 18 and received my voter registration card and became extremely excited because finally I
am able to vote! However, being a full-time student at a college several hours away from my
designated polling place quickly brought my excitement down. My sister, Zehra Hussain, moved even
further to Georgetown, D.C. Although both of us will be very busy and unable to return to our
designated county polling place to cast our vote, we still want to have the ability to vote for our
candidates in our hometown where we grew up.
I was glad to find out that my vote still could be casted via an absentee ballot via mail and that is how I was able to vote in 2018. I had to follow some simple proper steps and ensure my absentee ballot was filled out accurately and turned into my county election office prior to the deadline.
That year in 2018 when all college student were cheering for Beto to win the Texas senate seat, I spoke to several of my friends at that time and came to find out that they were unaware of the absentee ballot process too!. In order to help them and others in similar situation, I decided to create this simple website and organization.
As I began to research, there are several organizations that have made it easy for us busy college/graduate students to cast our vote and to ensure our Absentee ballot counts! I have included the best ones that I personally prefer.
Election 2024 - Don't forget to take your printed list of candidates with you. Cell phones are not permitted at the voting booth. Know your candidatesThere are Senators, Congressmen/Congresswomen, both at Federal and State level that are running, there are many County Judges, and City Elections too.
Members of the House of Representatives serve two-year terms and are considered for reelection every even year. Senators, however, serve six-year terms and elections to the Senate are staggered over even years so that only about 1/3 of the Senate is up for reelection during any election.
Voting has become more challenging than ever before, so make sure you know what ID to bring with you. If you're unsure, it's best to check with your local county elections office.
In Texas, absentee ballots by mail are available for voters unable to vote in person. The state also offers early voting.
Make a voting plan and stick to it! Be sure to know your voting rules, polling locations, and early voting dates, as they DO vary by state. check this site out as one of your tools to help you get organized to vote and avoid long lines.
I am a student at University of Austin that soon realized the complicated process of obtaining an absentee ballot and voter registration. I soon figured out how many steps were involved and this further opened my eyes to how many of my classmates and friends were also having trouble with getting such a simple application accomplished too.
It is imperative that we do vote and do get our voices heard, as these politicians are the ones that are going to change the laws that will directly impact our lives, either negatively or positively. Why not be part of the process to ensure we have a better world !
